6 hours is the norm for my all grain batches (including cleanup), although I've done it in 5. The only thing that keeps me from doing 2 all-grain batches at the same time is not having enough hot liquor (water) quick-heating capacity. I'll have that rectified before the end of this Winter, though.
Have a good brew day!

Happy brewing,
Bad Ben

Yea it's a project but with all-grain there is a time commitment and a lot of "hurry up and wait" so if you plan things out, it's not so bad. No question though, block out 6hrs+ by the time it's all said and done.

Yea pro football in Georgia...how's that working out for ya?

Ted- Nick beings over a second burner and we have three propane tanks on hand. It's clutch. With the next blog post I will outline the process, but we usually fire up the water for the second batch a short time after we strike the first. The second batch will sit in one or two coolers and do most of it's mashing there.

By the time the fist is in the brew kettle, it's time to mash out the second and we move it to the mash tun. It's a pretty busy day and you have to have a plan. Things would have gone better for us last time but the mash tun backed up on us.

Cheers! Go Razorbacks!

MNB doesn't brew on Sundays because of another thing you may have heard of..."Football."

All the guys are watching it these days...I wonder how you could have missed that.

MNB brews on Monday because everyone knows Monday Night games suck...probably scheduled by some yankee.

I was gonna say...you got his good side in that picture.

Have fun with the double brewday. I was wondering if you mash the second while boiling the first. If so, where are you heating the water for the second batch. I suppose if a friend loaned their burner/kettle setup for the day, it could go back to back.
