I apologize for the letting my posts go this month, March Madness has me going a little crazy because there are still TWO CNY teams in the tourney, SU and the Cinderella story of the year, the Cornell Big Red. With all that said, I am still going to find some time to brew this [...]
I know it was a while back, but the Bobby Brown Ale that I brewed before Christmas has been on tap for a few weeks now and I entered a bottle into a club brew competition so I wanted to get my notes down.
Over all, this was a pretty straight forward brew day. Single infusion [...]
It’s been a while since I did this one and the first time I did this as an experiment in “Reiterated Mashing”, but this time with a 20gal mash tun, there was no need to split the mashes. This was a 10 gal batch that I used essentially the same recipe:

Batch Size: 10.50 gal

With that said, I was thinking tonight, while I was reviewing some of the judging notes from brew competitions past; does [...]
I’ve been thinking about this since I saw an article in BYO where two brewers showed how to use an in-line filter to dry hop their beer in the secondary. The concept was simple; hops go into the in-line filter and the filter, with a few barbs and hoses on the end, gets dropped into [...]
In case you missed the news, the Monday Night Brewery crew, my barefooted nemesis to the south, had a recent new addition to their family. I wanted to take this opportunity to congratulate them and wish them all the best.
So tonight I just finished watching “The Works” on The History Channel and I have to say…I’m impressed. They toured Smuttynose. and an AB Brewery, an AWESOME homebrewer setup, a can collection for the ages, and a marketing firm that works for AB.
I was really impressed with how throughly they covered the process and [...]
I have just been working a lot. I am going to post in the next few days about the brew session we had with the Red Ale. All went well with it and it’s currently in secondary. In the meantime I have been working on all sorts of random crap. Here [...]
